Drontal Allwormer Chewables for Dogs Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions: Drontal may be given to dogs of all ages, including puppies and pregnant and lactating females. Drontal may be safely given in conjunction with other treatments such as heartworm prevention or flea and tick preventatives. On rare occasions, some dogs vomit when Drontal is administered.
Dosage and Administration of Drontal Allwormer Chewables for Dogs: Dosing is weight based. Round the dose up to the nearest half chewable. The chews may be cut in half with a sharp knife. The chews may then be fed by hand as a treat or crushed and mixed in with canned food.
Puppies should be treated at 2 ,4, 8 and 12 weeks of age, then at 4, 5 and 6 months. Adult dogs should be treated 3 monthly, or if in a Hydatids area, 6 weekly. Persistent infection with whipworm may also require 6 to 8 weekly treatments. Pregnant animals should be treated at the time of mating, 10 days before the pups are born, then at 2 and 4 weeks after whelping, in addition to the usual adult treatments.

Drontal chews are easy to crumble to hide in dogs food bowls. My dogs are more likely to take a Drontal chewable then a tablet. If my dogs sometimes shy away from taking the chews whole then my trick to get my dogs to eat them is to dunk a biscuit in a cup of tea and then use the mushy biscuit to camouflage the drontal chew. My dogs are more likely to eat it whole, albeit in this camouflage state, more so than other tablet forms which they spit out after licking off the biscuit!

sensitive dog
we have a sensitive skined dog - allergic to grasses and dark red meat! so finding an all wormer that does the job and keeps her skin under control has been hard. This is a great all wormer, easy for her to take (she actually likes it adn thinks it is a treat) and once she has it she seems to be comfortable - which is a plus when anything too strong affects her skin !

Drontal Allwormer
Hello, my name is Monty and I am a maltese/shitzu cross. I live with Mummy and Daddy who look after me and take me to the vet for my injections and checkup each year. I love to eat my chewable Drontal allwormer every 3 months but I only have half each time as I am quite small. It tastes nice and I know it will stop me getting worms. The vet gives me my heartworm injections, but this is to stop me getting any other worms. It is very tasty and I know it does me good. If any of you dogs out there are given a Drontal chewable allwormer, just eat it up and you won't get worms. Goodbye for now, Monty

These Drontal Allwormer Chewables make it just too easy to dose our little fussy pooch who now actually looks forward to getting his own little "special treat" instead of resorting to his previous trick of running and hiding under the bed when we had to try to force worm tablets down his throat. He's now happy, the wife's now happy, which means I now get to be happy too. :-) Thank God for Drontal ...!
