Kiltix Tick Collar For Dogs

Kiltix Tick Collar is manufactured by Bayer Australia Ltd.

The collar is worn continuously around the animal's neck and disseminates the parasiticide throughout the animal's coat as the animal moves around. It may take up to 1 week for an effective dose to be disseminated into thick double coated haired areas of the coat.

Daily tick checks are still recommended in conjunction with use of the tick collar to increase the effectiveness of tick control.

The area of skin on the neck around the collar should be monitored for any signs of irritation and the collar removed if irritation is noted.

The Kiltix Collar resists the effects of water but should nonetheless be removed for bathing. Frequent bathing or swimming may remove the product from the coat, thus reducing the effectiveness of the product in flea and tick control.

How to use the product

The Bay-o-Pet Tick Collar is placed around the dog's neck and left on continuously for the effective period of the product - that is 6 weeks for paralysis tick control; 5 months for flea control; 5 months for control of the brown and bush tick.

The product should be removed from the packaging, unrolled and the plastic removed from the smooth inner side prior to placing around the animal's neck. The free end should then be pulled through the clasp and tightened to the desired length around the dog's neck.

Ensure the dog cannot chew on the collar as ingestion may be toxic to the animal and cause neurological symptoms to develop. Seek veterinary attention immediately if this occurs.

Wrap any used collar or packaging and dispose of in the garbage.

Sizes

The product comes in 1 size, a 45g plastic resin collar.

Active Ingredients

Flumethrin 22.5 g/kg, propoxur 100 g/kg.

Both these active ingredients act on the nervous system of the targeted parasites.

Contraindications and warnings

Do not allow pets to chew on the collar.

Do not use in conjunction with any other parasite product containing anti-cholinesterase ingredients.

Do not place on sick or convalescing dogs.

Do not use on puppies under the age of 3 months.

Do not use on cats.

Observe the skin around the collar regularly when first worn to check for signs of irritation. If irritation occurs discontinue use immediately.

Wash hands after use.

Do not allow children to handle the collar.

If poisoning occurs seek veterinary attention immediately or contact The Poisons Information Centre.

Since switching my dogs to Kiltix Tick collars I have never looked back. This collar not only protects against ticks but also fleas. This has been a great saving for me not having to buy a separate flea product and also saves me time as this product is a 2 in 1. Its also very easy to put on, doesn't irritate the dogs and is exceptionally great value for money. THUMBS UP to 'Kiltix Tick & Flea Collars'.

I bought a Kiltix Tick Collar after my puppy nearly died from a tick. We had lost a previous dog to a tick and our area is prone to them. The collar is the easiest way to keep her free of ticks. For over 12 months now we have not found any ticks on her and all we do is just keep replacing the tick collars. This is the best way of keeping your dog tick free! YAY for Kiltix :o)

Look no further

The Bayer kiltix collar are terrific for the pooch that has allergies. My Dog who is an Alaskan Malamute xtra large neck went insane everytime treatments for flea's n ticks were applied. Poor thing would be driven crazy by a chemical that is added. (he use to run about and try to scratch where ointment was applied). It looked as though ants were bitting him. After seeking advice from Bayer I was advised that she indeed slipped into the small percentile of animals that are allergic to a particular chemical. In turn I now use the flea ointment in conjunction with this fabulous TICK collar. The collar has been tried and tested as we reside in a all year tick area. Do follow the instructions and replace the collar at required intervals. The collars will suit the smallest of pooches.

I have been using Bay-o-Pet Tick Collars for many many years now. Before Bay-o-Pet was recommended to me,I have tried many other Flea and Tick Collars with which I was not Happy. Having three German Shepherds, it was always a struggle to keep them Flea free.Well, not any more!! As I have Dams on my property for the Dogs to swim in, it is also a big advantage that Bay-o-Pet Tick Collars are water fast. The design of the Collars also means that they stay on my Dogs and don't slip or get pulled of during play. Bay-o-Pet Tick Collars are excellent value for Money . I recommend Bay-o-Pet Collars to all my Friends. Very Happy :)
